Mobile phones in public trains

Mobile phones are becoming an increasingly large part of our everyday life, and we bring it everywhere!
Going from landline phones, it has become possible to be accessible whereever we are; including areas previously seen as public.
This transformation must change our perception of public areas. But do all of us have the same idea on how to behave in the public?

This paper was a part of an exam in a 2nd semester course in Digital Media Culture, and explores how people in Copenhagen consider the use of mobile phones in public S-trains.
It shows that there is a tendency towards younger people being more open-minded towards the use of cell phones in trains, however persons from a focus group do not want to listen to intimate and personal conversations.
The conducted examination is being enlightened with theorist such as Rich Ling and Monk.
